You sit and talk about your everyday stunts,

how you made the deal, how you found a new brand that works better for you,

how you gave that rude person at the sales counter your a piece of your mind.

Why should I care?

Why should anybody care?

You talk about your new clothes,

you talk about your new shade of eye liner,

you brag about your new promotion.

Do you think we care?

Do you think the large dog sitting, waiting for someone to throw the ball, cares at all?

You're so convinced that what you're saying is what we need do hear.

You're positive that your particular mode of speech has everything going for it.

You honestly believe that a description of your life is interesting to us.

Your shroud is very large today.

Well, you finish your ramble, and then I ask you:

Did you cheer for something today?

Did you find a remote location of your mind and learn from it?

Did you go to a new place and feel the warmth of the unknown?

And finally, I ask you:

Did you dance within the circling vortex of a short-lived dust devil?
