What does it take to be an artist?
Well, first of all, it helps to be
a little bit irresponsible.
That way, your art will come first,
before those things that society
says should come first.
And if there's one thing
you can bank on,
your art will not be
one of those things.
So, you've got to sacrifice
your "good standing" in the
world, and how others perceive you.
You can't worry about what others
think of you.
If you do, that will kill you right off.
But wait, there are many artists who
live with extreme conformality,
and they are still great artists.
Well, maybe that blows
my theory.
Maybe I'm talking about ME.
Every artist is, after all,
unique, unique, unique.
